I have been so focused on researching the history of northern waterways transportation, and in particular the sinking of two tugs on the Mackenzie River watershed, that my list of resources has not kept pace. I apologize.  For history buffs, suffice to say that the number and quality of archives available to the public in Canada is quite amazing and the people there generally very willing to help. Included in those I have accessed recently are:

Library and Archives Canada
Province of Alberta Archives
Province of Saskatchewan Archives
Manitoba Archives
Hudson's Bay Company Archives at Archives Manitoba
City of Edmonton Archives
University of Alberta Archives
NWT Archives
Hay River Museum Society
Fort McMurray Heritage Society Museums (temporarily closed)

The following are a few select website links to organizations and foundations for Indigenous support/history, paddling, and nature conservation & education in Canada.

Waskasoo environmental education society
ceyana canoe club
northwest voyageurs canoe and kayak club
rocky mountain canoe club
totem outfitters
track'n'trail
travel alberta
paddle alberta
aq outdoors
