New Updates

This week - the first week of May - sees A Métis Man's Dream delivered to Indigo Sherwood Park (thanks Paige!) and Chapters West Edmonton (thanks Chantelle!) as well as the bookstore/gift shop at Metis Crossing, a neat resort and historical site on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River near Smoky Lake, northeast of Edmonton. Stay tuned for more coming soon!

The Fort MacMurray Heritage Society also now has A Métis Man's Dream for sale. This important heritage park highlights the history of the area of course but relevant to the book, Fort MacMurray/Waterways was the long time southern terminus of the Athabasca/Mackenzie marine transport system which features so prominently in the Gordon Gill story and the history of Canada's Northwest.

Also this week, an article about the book was published in the Mile Zero Banner Post, serving the district from Grimshaw north on the Mackenzie Highway, including Gordon's home towns of Notikewin and Hotchkiss.

A nice article, with photos, about A Métis Man's Dream, and Gordon Gill appeared in The Hub Newspaper of Hay River, and The Yellowknifer newspaper.

On Saturday morning, April 29, 2023, and again Monday, May first, CBC North (cbc.ca/north) aired a lengthy interview with me, about the book, Gordon, the writing process, and the importance of this story in the preservation of northern history.
